The Town Clerk acts in an objective way on behalf of the whole council, is not accountable to any single councillor and has wide-ranging responsibilities. The Town Clerk is the most senior officer of the Council. The postholder is also the proper officer of the Council and the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).

The Deputy Town Clerk carries out a varied programme of administrative and clerical responsibilities, including, maintaining records, updating financial documents and supporting events. The Deputy Town Clerk supports the Town Clerk with meeting preparation and implementation.

Events & Communications

Phillipa Scullion

The Events Coordinator role includes the planning and organising of both large-scale and smaller events for the local area whilst working closely with the community. The Events Coordinator also manages all social media channels, website management and is editor of the Petuaria Press, providing information to the residents of Elloughton-cum-Brough.

Groundsman

Phil Payne

The Groundsman role includes the day-to-day maintenance and repair of all street furniture owned by the Town Council across Elloughton-cum-Brough, including emergency repairs which may be hazardous to the public. Additionally the Groundsman will ensure hedges and grass verges belonging to the Town Council are cut and kept tidy throughout the year. Inspections of the play park for litter and any hazards are an ongoing part of the role, with additional litter picks around the town. Ad hoc duties required by the Town Council will also be required of the Groundsman.
