Welcome to ‘The Jungle’!

Children and residents in Elloughton-cum-Brough are set to get a new piece of playground equipment, after successfully securing funding for the project.

The £15,544.00 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, as well as additional funding by Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council of £4,114.98, will be used to purchase ‘The Jungle’ from Playscheme, a large piece of equipment suitable for ages 5+ at the Elloughton Road playground.

Cllr. Marinos Loizides, Chairman of Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council believes the new piece of equipment will provide ‘a real boost to the playground and to the children of Elloughton-cum-Brough’.

He says, “Elloughton-cum-Brough Town Council is focused on increasing the opportunities for young people in its community. This project will positively contribute towards that goal. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to the installation of the playground equipment over the next few months.”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Cheryl Raynor, FCC Community Foundations local grant manager says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Council to bring this project to fruition, the new piece of equipment will make a real difference to the children and encourage further use of this already well used facility. We look forward to work starting shortly.

Elloughton cum Brough Town Council hopes the new piece of equipment will be installed and ready to use by February.

National Flood Awareness Week 2022

Humber 2100+ Winter Comms Campaign 2022/23

Sea level rise and extreme weather events are likely to have a very real and direct impact on our lives. As sea levels continue to rise and storms become more frequent, tidal flood events will happen more often. Within a few decades we could experience tidal flooding that used to happen once a century every year. The Humber 2100+ partnership is working together to plan how tidal risk is managed over the next 100years. The scale of risk now and in the future will mean that we all must be prepared for the impacts so that we can recover more quickly from flooding when it happens. This winter the partnership is working to raise awareness of tidal flood risk, to help communities understand the impacts now and in the future, and how they can live with risk by being prepared.

Advance notice of roadworks – A63

National Highways will soon be carrying out essential maintenance work on the A63 between North Cave and South Cave, in both directions (but not at the same time), completing this work will mean smoother and safer journeys for customers.

We plan to start work on Monday 14 November and aim to complete in December. We’ll be working overnight between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday. We cannot complete this work in harsh weather; if there are any changes, we will keep you updated on our website and social media channels.

To carry out this work safely we will first close the westbound carriageway overnight (8pm until 6am) Monday to Friday for approximately 3 weeks. Due to essential maintenance work taking place on Ouse Bridge, we plan to return to complete the eastbound carriageway in the new year.

A fully signed diversion, which has been agreed in advance with the police and the local authority, will be in place.

• Westbound - motorway traffic will be diverted at Western interchange (between North Ferriby and Humber Bridge) onto the A164 & A1079, through to the A614 onto junction 37 of the M62.

During the day, the carriageway will be open to traffic in both directions.

If you would like to discuss this scheme, or need further information, please contact National Highways 0300 123 5000 or email info@nationalhighways.co.uk and we can arrange for the project team to get in touch directly.
