Planning and Highways Committee

What is the Committees role?

The Town Council is consulted by the relevant planning authority, which is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, on all planning applications. Any views expressed by the Town Council are taken into account before a decision is made. The final decision is made by the Planning Authority, not the Town Council.

The Committee acts on the Town Council’s behalf as a statutory consultee for all relevant planning applications, tree preservation orders, license applications and alterations to the highway.

The Committee meets at 7pm on the second Tuesday of every month at the Town Councils Offices, 44, Elloughton Road, Brough.

Where can I find out about planning applications and Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)?

You can find out information about all planning applications and TPOs in the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Planning Portal: https://newplanningaccess.eastriding.gov.uk/newplanningaccess/
